Bella’s Halloween Purple
Under the violet night sky, a girl walked along a path illuminated by diamonds scattered like stars. She followed a pumpkin ghost glowing in black light, blending with the brightest backdrop of the world. Bella wanted to tug on the pumpkin ghost’s cloak. Its cloak sparkled like a galaxy, and her eyes were drawn to it, wanting to hold on to it. But Bella was a timid child, worried that the pumpkin ghost, the owner of her own little galaxy, might be scared.
So she lightly tugged on the cloak and continued to follow the pumpkin ghost. Time didn’t seem to pass much as Bella followed the glow of the galaxy emanating from the pumpkin ghost’s cloak. After a while, Bella arrived at the village of the pumpkin ghost, where various colors of light captivated her eyes, making it impossible to look away. She seemed to have discovered a light in the village that shone even brighter than the sparkling galaxy light from the pumpkin ghost’s cloak.
However, Bella soon realized that the sparkling light from the pumpkin ghost’s cloak and the light in the village, though different in color, were shining in the same way. She understood that the sparkling galaxy light from the pumpkin ghost’s cloak was actually shining because of her own light. She could vaguely feel that there was a barrier preventing her from fully understanding the emotions she had just experienced.
The pumpkin ghost knew that a child had been following him even before he arrived in the village. The child seemed to really like the pumpkin ghost’s cloak. The pumpkin ghost didn’t like the child following him. It would be troublesome if the child followed him all the way to the village because there was a rule in the pumpkin ghost village that no outsiders were allowed.
The pumpkin ghost tried hard to remember what happened a long time ago, but he couldn’t recall anything. Now, it was just a rule that was passed down, mixed with legends and rumors for no apparent reason. But one thing he remembered for sure was the pain he experienced when he broke the village’s rule and it came back to haunt him. As soon as the pumpkin ghost arrived in the pumpkin ghost village, he hurriedly tried to part ways with the child and headed towards his own house. However, the child stubbornly followed and eventually caught up with the pumpkin ghost right in front of his house.
‘Pumpkin ghost, I can’t go without you, right? That’s right, isn’t it?’
‘Why aren’t you saying anything?’
‘Don’t leave me here alone.’
Bella said a few words to the pumpkin ghost, but he didn’t respond. Bella then gave up and decided to explore the pumpkin ghost village on her own. The pumpkin ghost pondered whether he should hide the child’s existence or just let her be and leave. But realizing that it was Halloween season and there were no other pumpkin ghosts in the village, he quietly watched the child wandering around the pumpkin ghost village.
Bella looked at the pumpkin ghost’s village and wondered where she should go. Wherever she went, the pumpkin village would surely captivate her with its elegant lights. While she was organizing her thoughts for a moment, Bela’s eyes were drawn to a faint purple lake, and without realizing, she found herself walking towards the lake.
Arriving at the violet lakeside, Bella saw a pink cotton candy-like cloud, and it felt as if the cotton candy cloud had been waiting for her. Approaching the cotton candy, Bella saw one of the small sparkling lights that floated around the pumpkin ghost village transform into a jewel in her hand. Bela suddenly decided to transfer the jewel onto the cotton candy cloud. In that moment, the cotton candy cloud started swirling as if it was about to fly away, and Bella didn’t want to let go of the cotton candy cloud. She grabbed onto the strands of the cotton candy cloud to anchor herself and relaxed.
Chapter.1 Pride and Prejudice
Entranced by the enchanting scenery for a moment, Bella, who had been captivated by the familiar fragrance carried by the wind, looked around in surprise at the early encounter with the pumpkin ghost following her.
‘Pumpkin ghost, did you follow me? Why?’
‘Give it back, that’s my book. It’s very precious to me.’
‘What are you talking about? I don’t have a book. I’ve never taken your book.’
‘No, it’s definitely you. I saw you take it with my own eyes.’
‘But I haven’t done that. Pumpkin ghost, did you lose a book? I’ll help you find it. Don’t worry too much.’
‘Just give it to me now.’
‘I can’t right now, I need to find the book to give it to you. Just wait here for a bit, and I’ll bring the book back soon. I promise to come back.’
After making a promise to the pumpkin ghost to find the book, Bella retraced her steps to search for the forgotten book. Watching Bella’s retreating figure, the pumpkin ghost pondered whether to believe Bella’s words. It was clear in the pumpkin ghost’s eyes—the giant book that Bella was riding. The pumpkin ghost stood still in that spot, contemplating for a while.
‘Did she really take the book? But she’s clearly riding my book… Is it not my book? Or is she unaware? Yes, she might not know… Can that be true? It’s so vividly visible; how can she not know? But there must be another reason.’
After organizing its thoughts, the pumpkin ghost decided to return to its village and wait for Bella to come. Strangely, though, the pumpkin ghost couldn’t take a single step. Its body wouldn’t move. Realizing that something was wrong, the pumpkin ghost desperately called out for Bella, but she had already gone too far. The pumpkin ghost could only hope that someone else passing by would set it free. Despairing, it had nothing else to do but wait for someone who could release it.
